内分泌性眼球突出を伴う外眼筋麻痺

External Ophthalmoplegia with Exophthalmos of Endocrine Nature

I．緒言

　内分泌性眼球突出に伴う外眼筋麻癖に関しては，本邦眼科領域においても多くの報告が認められるが，その本態に関してはまだ明らかにされていない点が多い。

　最近，著者らは興味ある本症症例を経験したのでここに報告する。

Occurrence of external ophthalmoplegia with endocrine exopthalmos in two males of 43 and 54 years of age is described, with particular stress upon histologic, histochemical and electron-microscopic findings of biopsied extraocular muscles.

Histologic and histochemical studies showed proliferation of connective tissue associated with an increase of intercellular space and with in-terstitial edema. Atrophic findings were present in some muscle fibers. No abnormal findingswere observed as concerns succinic dehydroge-nase activity of these muscles.
