The occurrence of myelo-optico-nouropathy (SMON) with ocular manifestations was des-cribed. In all cases, who happened to be adult males, initial neurological symptoms were fol-lowed by bilateral visual disturbance and deve-lopment of central scotoma. Temporal pallor of the disc, which developed a few months after onset of visual disturbance, was ophthalmosco-ipcally confirmed in 3 cases. The fourth case maintained fairly good visual acuity without any pathological findings of the fundus throu-ghout. Three cases ran chronic fluctuating co-urse and the other an acute, fulminant one.
