A female office clerk, who had been wearing contactlenses for the past 6 years, incurred blunt blow upon the left eyeball when directly hit by a falling cardboard box. While the an-terior portion of the eye was virtually free from pathological findings, macular hemorrhage re-sulted with the visual acuity reduced to hand movement. The fundus finding as well as visual acuity was normalized 4 weeks later. The contactlens seems to have protected the ante-rior eye segment from serious consequences due to trauma.
