Red-Free Light Fundus Photography:Rhodopsin Photography

I．緒言

　Fundus reflectometryはBrindleyとWill—mer^1）によりはじめて試みられ，その後Weale^2）やRushton^3）が，生体眼の網膜曝光時の視紅の槌色を測定するのに応用した。GlosterとGre—aves^4）らは，さらに感度の高い装置に改良して網膜色素変性患者の眼底変化を追求せんとした。その結果，人間の曝光された網膜の槌色現象を連続的に記録することができるようになつた。

　これらの基礎実験から，red-free lightを使用してfundus photographyを行なえば，暗順応と明順応時の網膜の視紅量の差を明確に把握できるのではないかと考え，red-free light fundusphotographyを開発し，正常者，網膜色素変性症患者およびその家族につき試み，その眼底変化を比較検討せんとした。

Fundus photography with red-free light has been developed by the authors to enable the documentation of rhodopsin content in the reti-na during dark-and light- adapted states. Kodak wratten filter Nr. 65A, which shows maximum transmission at 500 nm wavelength, was insert-ed into the fundus camera. In order to avoid probable artifacts during photographic process-ing, either upper or lower half of the fundus was exposed to light after preliminary dark adaptation. After this procedure, fundus pho-tography with red-free light was conducted.
