新抗結核剤Ethambutol〔dextro−2,2'—（ethylenediimino）—di−1—butanol・2HCl〕による眼障害例について

I．緒言

　Ethambutol〔dextro−2,2'—（ethylenediimino）—di−1・butanol・2HCl〕は既存の結核剤に感受性の結核症は勿論，耐性を示す重症結核症に対しても，単独または併用療法で優れた治療効果を示す新しい二次抗結核剤で，1961年米国のWilkinsonら^23）により合成開発されたものである（第1図）。その基礎的臨床的成績の優秀性は多くの報告にみるところであるが，眼に対する副作用の点で今一つ一沫の不安をもつて迎えられている事実も否定できない。

　今回，某療養所よりEthambutol服用中視力障害を生じた2例の患者をみる機会を得，本剤服用による眼障害例について若干の検討を加えたのでここに報告する。

Two cases of the toxic ocular manifestations of ethambutol Cdextro-2,2'- (ethy-lenediimino)- di-1-butano1.2HC1), a new secondary antituber-culous drug, are reported.

The ocular manifestations of the agent were observed in the literature in 111 of 1400 cases (7.9%) including 49 cases (3.5%) with the clear features of the ocular toxicity.

This may represent necessity of the ocular symptomatological observation to prevent serious side effects from ethambutol administ-ration.
