船員の珍しい眼疾患について

On Seaman's Peculiar Ocular Diseases

I．緒言

　船員特有の職業病，または眼疾患の問題は未だ解明されていないが，最近7ヵ月間に東京船員保険病院を訪れた船員の眼疾患患者を検討し，二，三のめずらしい例を経験したので，御報告申上げる次第である。

In Tokyo Seamen's Insurance Hospital, 152 seamen's ocular diseases were analysed as fo-llows.

(1) In cases of captain's and chief-engineers, ocular diseases, conjunctival diseases and pres-byopia were mainly observed, and sometimes diabetic retinitis, angiosclerotic retinopathia, and acute neuritis were rarely observed.

(2) In cases of officers, and such as naviga-tors, of large passenger-boats and tankers, se-vere asthenopia probably due to the horrible sensation of visual sea-sickness were frequently visualized.
