Clinical Experience with Topical Mucofadin in Ophthalmology

I．緒言

　ビタミンB₂各型の角膜疾患患者の代謝および治療効果に関しては，多数の報告^1）〜7）があり，特にFAD （フラビン・アデニン・ジヌクレオタイド）が局所に使用された場合に，角膜の代謝促進作用を有し，角膜疾患に効果があることは，広く認められている^8）9）。

　一方，組織成分の一部をなす酸性ムコ多糖類の損傷治癒に関する効果も，多方面にわたつて知られており，全身投与，結膜下注射，点眼などにより角膜表層損傷の治癒促進^10）11），混濁の透明化^{10）〜13）}から，眼精疲労・調節衰弱^{12）〜14）}，近視の治療^15）などにすら効果があるとして，広範囲にわたつてその使用が検討されている。

A clinical appraisal was made over the pro-bable benefical effect of topically applied oph-thalmic solution of FAD and chondroitin sulfate (Mucofadin). 1 ml of Mucofadin contained 0.5mg FAD and 10.0mg chondroitin sulfate. It was applied 4 to 6 times a day. A total of 67 cases with various corneal affections and asthenopic symptoms were thus treated.

1. Moderate to remarkable effects were noted in all the 21 cases with various types of ker-atitis including keratitis filamentosa, superfi-cial diffuse or punctate keratitis, undifferen-tiated corneal ulcer, keratitis nummularis and striate keratitis among others.
