可動性義眼台の予後

Prognostic Features of Motile Eyeball Prosthesis

I．はじめに

　眼科医にとつて，眼球摘出および内容除去術といつたことはできるだけ避けたいことである。止むを得ずしてその様な手段を採つた患者が，肉体的な負い目だけでなく，容貌面でまで劣等感を持つてはいないかと気がかりなことである。

　この度，厚沢義眼店（東京・本郷）の協力を得て，アンケート形式による可動性義眼装用成績を求めた。その成績は第1,2表のごとくである。

An inquiry was made into the postoperativecourse after enucleation with implantation of artificial socket to secure motility of prosthe-sis. 34 cases were studied with the follow-up period of one to four years.

Dislocation of the socket occurred in 6 eyes (18%). The socket of type Arruga was more prone to dislocate (3 out of 9 eyes) than the magnetic type (2 out of 24 eyes). There was a considerable number of patients who com-plained of unsatisfactory motility of the pro-sthesis, while epiphora as well as discharge from the eye ranked second as subjective com-plaints.
