Experience in Treatment of Coats' Disease with Photocoagulation

I．緒言

　Coats病に対して，これまでに放射線照射や，ステロイドホルモンの効果も旺んに試みられたが，これらの非観血療法では確かな治効を毎例にあげ得るに，やはり至らなかったようである。

　一方，ジアテルミー凝固による病巣部破壊の試みは，20余年前から散見され，病巣がなお眼底の一部に局在する例では，病変の停止を得たとの報告も少くない。

Photocoagulation with a Zeiss photocoagu-lator was carried out on 9 cases (9 eyes) with Coats' disease during June 1962 to April 1966. Our experience in the administration of trea-tment is summarized.

The cases consisted of 6 males and 3 fema-les of ages ranging from 9 to 55 years. Pho-tocoagulation was administered 1 to 5 times. The cases were observed for a period of mo-re than 4 months (the longest case for 41 mo-nths) after the last administration of photo-coagulation.
