The minimal energy value required for production of laser coagulation in human eye was determined through evaluation of the fundus appearance 48 hours after coagulation. Noticeable reaction in the posterior fundus could be elicited with 1/50 to 1/100 (0.47 Cal/ cm2) of therapeutic dosis currently applied. The data could be used to deseign protective gla-sses for lasers and to evaluate effects of coagulations.
