レーザーフォトコアグレーションの臨床成績について

Clinical Studies in Laser Photocoagulation.

I．緒言

　フォトコアグレーション（光凝固術）の進歩に伴つて，種々の強力な光を，その光源として利用することが試みられてきた。

　Meyer-Schwickerath^1）は，はじめ太陽光線を用い，ついでカーボンアーク，最後にクセノンアークランプを使用して，フォトコアグレーショを実用化した。最も新しく開発されたレーザーは1960年にMaimanによつて，実際的な装置が公開されて以来，光凝固機の光源として注目された。

A laser photocoagulator suitable for clinical application has been described. The technique of treatment and the results obtained in a series of patients have been described. These data indicate that laser photocoagulation when properly controlled is a safe clinical procedure with relatively minimal complications. The reduced energy requirement by the laser and the facility of technique imply that photocoa-gulation with the laser is the method of choice.
