A report is presented over the ophthalmo-logical findings of pupils attending the Shizu-oka School for the Blind.

1. Among the 126 subjects studied, there was a preponderance of males over females at the rate of 59.5% vs. 40.5%.

2. 83.3% of the subjects aged less than 20 years.

3. The visual acuity was less than 0.1 in 85.7% and less than 0.02 in 42.1%.

4. 60.2% had been blind already since bi-rth. In 82.7% blindness set in before the age of 10.
