眼部帯状ヘルペス並びに角膜水痘に対するIDUの効果

Effect of IDU on Ophthalmic Herpes Zoster and Corneal Varicella

I．まえがき

　IDU （5—iodo−2'—deoxyuridine）点眼による角膜ヘルペスの治験例は，昭和38年頃から多数報告されているが，主に単純ヘルペスに関するものである。これらの論文中に，IDU点眼が，帯状ヘルペス，水痘ヘルペスに対しても，やや有効であると記載されている^{1）2）3）4）}。

　varicella-zoster virusは，herpes simplexvirusと同じDNA virusに属し，形態学的にも同一である^5）。したがつて単純ヘルペスに対して卓効のあるIDUが，帯状ヘルペスや角膜水痘に対しても，効果があると考えられる。

IDU has been reported to be effective aga-inst herpes simplex virus. Since varicella-zoster virus is of the same DNA-containingvirus group as herpes simplex virus, and is also morphologically identical with this virus, so some successful treatment of varicella-zoster with IDU would be expected.

Two cases of herpes zoster keratoiritis with corneal ulcer, and a case of varicella were treated successfully with topical IDU. The lesions healed without any complications in all these three cases.
