ヘルペス性角膜炎に対するIDUの使用経験

IDU therapy of herpetic keratitis

Ⅰ．緒言

　近年副腎皮質ホルモン点眼濫用のためか，角膜ヘルペスの経過がのび，或いは症状が重篤化し複雑化した様に思われるふしがある。

　最近Kaufman^1）が5—Iodo−2—Deoxyuridine（IDU）を本疾患に用いて著効を収めたといい，本邦では内田等^2）が角膜ヘルペス2例に卓効があつたと報告した。吾々も比較的重篤なヘルペス性角膜炎の患者10例にIDU （住友化学工業提供）を点眼して有効であることを認めたので，その概略を記述したい。

This report deals with the 10 cases of he-rpetic karatitis treated by 0.1% IDU instilled every two hours during a day with all good results.

The author found that IDU was not only efficacious against the herpetic keratitis per se but helpful in clearing the cornea of herp-etic parenchymatous opacity after the acute stage of herpetic keratitis has gone.
