Abstract. Purpose:To examine compatibility of densitometry analysis of surface scatterings of implanted intraocular lens(IOL)between rotating and fixed Scheimpflug photographies. Method:For 132 eyes of 84 patients who implanted foldable acrylic IOL more than 6 months after surgery, Scheimpflug images were acquired using a rotating photography(Pentacam®, OCULUS)and angle-fixed camera(EAS1000, Nidek)on the same day. Densitometries on the IOL anterior and posterior surfaces were analyzed in the same area size for the both Scheimpflug images, and the correlation between the two measurements was evaluated. Results:There was significant linear regression between the two measurements on the anterior and posterior IOL surfaces(p<0.0001, r2=0.96 and 0.78, respectively), when the scattering intensity was less than 170 computer-compatible tapes in the angle-fixed camera. Conclusion:Densitometry analysis with rotating Scheimpflug photography was compatible with the conventional analysis with the angle-fixed, and was effective in assessing posterior capsular opacity and surface light scattering.
