Abstract. Purpose:To report a method to document cataract surgery using a modified three-dimensional(3D)video camera. Method:A commercially available 3D video camera(Fuji;FinePix®REAL3DW3)was attached to the side-viewer of surgical microscope(Zeiss;Lumera®T or VISU)via an adaptor. Cataract surgery was documented by this instrument. The findings were recorded on a SD card and were transmitted to a personal computer for editing. Results:It was possible to document cataract surgery as a three-dimensional view. Conclusion:The present system enabled continuous recording of cataract surgery. The system promises to be of value in educational purposes.
