Abstract. Purpose:To report the long-term outcome of simultaneous trabeculotomy and sinusotomy for glaucoma. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 254 eyes of 202 patients of glaucoma. The age ranged from 18 to 87 years, average 64 years. Simultaneous cataract surgery was performed on 136 eyes. Results:Intraocular pressure(IOP)averaged 24.6±8.4 mmHg before surgery and 15.6 mmHg after 3 to 61 months. The difference was significant(p<0.0015). IOP decreased below 20 mmHg in 89% of cases one year after surgery,78% after 2 years, and 73% after 3 years. The medication score averaged 3.28±1.14 before and 1.37±1.26 after surgery. There was no severe complication throughout. Conclusion:Simultaneous trabeculotomy and sinusotomy resulted in decrease of IOP and medication score. This surgical approach promises to be safe and effective for glaucoma.
