Abstract. Purpose:To report changes in corneal astigmatism after cataract surgery through 2.4 mm temporal corneal incision. Cases and Method:This study was made on 39 eyes of 33 patients who received cataract surgery through 2.4 mm incision through temporal clear cornea. They were divided into 3 groups:regular,inverse,and oblique astigmatism. They were followed up for 8 weeks after surgery regarding the amount and axis of corneal astigmatism. Results:There was no change in the amount and axis of astigmatism after surgery. There was no significant difference among the 3 groups. Conclusion:Cataract surgery through 2.4 mm temporal corneal incision did not result in changes in the amount or axis of corneal astigmatism for up to 8 weeks.
