Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of MEWDS using spectral domain optical coherence tomography(OCT)as a diagnostic tool. Case:A 29-year-old female presented with visual field defect while watching a television screen. Findings:Visual acuity was 1.5 in either eye when corrected by -4.25D right and -3.75 left. The left eye showed indistinct white dots in the retina. Perimetry showed enlarged blind spot. Spectral domain OCT showed disappearance of junction line between inner and outer segments of visual cells. These findings led to the diagnosis of MEWDS. Conclusion:Spectral domain OCT was useful in the diagnosis of MEWDS in this patient.
