Abstract. Purpose:To report changes in the size of visual field after surgery for blepharoptosis. Cases and Method:This study was made on 29 eyes that received ptosis surgery during a one-year period and that could be evaluated for visual field before and after surgery. The series comprised 12 male and 17 female eyes. The age ranged from 56 to 91 years, average 73 years. Visual field was measured by Goldmann perimeter. The isopter for V4 was evaluated as to the area and the radius for each 8 principal meridians. Results:The area of visual field increased to 1.29 fold after surgery. The change was significant(p<0.05). The radius increased significantly in the upper 5 meridians including horizontal one(p<0.05 each). Conclusion:Surgery for blepharoptosis induced enlargement in area of visual field and in radius of horizontal and superior principal meridians.
