In situ hybridization法を用いてヒトパピローマウイルスを検出した結膜乳頭腫の再発例

Detection of human papillomavirus in a case of recurrent conjunctival papilloma by in situ hybridization

要約　再発を2回起こした20歳男性の左眼涙丘部の結膜乳頭腫に対し，ヒトパピローマウイルス（HPV）を検出する目的で，切除組織のin situ hybridizationを行った。ワイド・スペクトラムHPVプローブを用い，腫瘍の表層の細胞内に陽性像が認められた。再発性または多発性の若年者の結膜乳頭腫がHPVの感染によることを示す症例である。このような症例にはHPVの検索と，ウイルス感染を考慮して腫瘍細胞を播種させないような手術操作が必要である。

Abstract.　Conjunctival papilloma had recurred twice in the left lacrimal caruncle of a 20-year-old man in spite of resections. We applied in situ hybridization to the resected specimen in order to detect DNA of human papillomavirus（HPV）. The superficial cells of the tumor showed positive reaction using wide-spectrum HPV probe. This case illustrates that recurrent or multiple conjunctival papilloma may be due to HPV infection. We advocate efforts to detect HPV in such cases. Careful surgical procedure is also necessary not to allow dissemination of infected tumor cells.
