過去10年間に眼窩先端部症候群6例を経験した。すべてに視力障害，眼痛，全方向の眼球運動障害があった。全例が男性で，年齢は46～77歳（平均59歳）であった。原因は真菌症2例，転移性腫瘍1例，肥厚性硬膜炎1例，不明2例であった。病変部位は海綿静脈洞2例，上眼窩裂2例，硬膜1例，不明1例であった。これら6例のうち5例は患眼の光覚を失い3例は死亡した。眼窩先端部症候群は生命と視力予後が不良である可能性が高く，的確で迅速な病因診断と治療が必要である。

We observed 6 cases of orbital apex syndrome during the foregoing 10 years. All the cases showed visual loss,periorbital or hemicranial pain,and restricted ocular movement in all directions. All the cases were males. Their ages ranged from 46 to 77 years,average 59 years. The underlying causes included mycosis 2 cases,metastatic tumor 1 case,hypertrophic pachymeningitis 1 case and unkown 2 cases. The main lesion was located in the cavernous sinus 2 cases,superior orbital fissure 2 cases,dura mater 1 case,and unidentified 1 case. Five cases lost vision in the affected side. Three cases resulted in death. We advocate early diagnosis and treatment of orbital apex syndrome which may result in visual loss or fatal outcome.
