Abstract. Purpose:To report the long-term outcome of lymphoproliferative diseases of ocular adnexa. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 15 cases who were diagnosed with lymphoproliferative diseases of ocular adnexa during 11 years through 1990. The series comprised 12 males and 3 females. The age ranged from 39 to 76 years, average 52 years. The lesion was located in the conjunctiva in 6 cases, orbit in 5 cases, eyelid in 2 cases, and both conjunctiva and orbit in 2 cases. Fourteen cases were treated by excision, medication, or radiation. One case received chemotherapy for malignant lymphoma. Histopathological diagnosis was reasserted using paraffin block of specimens stained by hematoxylin-eosin. Questionnaire was sent to the patients in 2000 asking the state of their disease. Results:Fourteen cases were rediagnosed with malignant lymphoma including 13 cases of MALT lymphoma. After an average of 14.8 years since initial diagnosis, there was no case who died of malignant lymphoma. Conclusion:Lymphoproliferative diseases of ocular adnexa result in good outcome after 10 years or longer.
