Purpose:To report deposit of triamcinolone to the fovea in a case after macular hole surgery. Case and Findings:Stage 3 macular hole was found in the right eye of a 69-year-old female. Her corrected visual acuity was 0.3 right and 0.6 left. She underwent phacoemulsification-aspiration,intraocular lens insertion, vitreous surgery, injection of 8 mg triamcinolone acetonide to induce detachment of posterior vitreous, and fluid-air exchange. She did not receive peeling of internal limiting membrane. Deposit of triamcinolone was detected on day 2 of surgery and disappeared 40 days later. The macular hole closed with recovery of visual acuity to 1.0. No abnormal findings have been detected by ophthalmoscopy and optical coherence tomography(OCT)until 9 months after surgery. Conclusion:Postoperative deposit of triamcinolone to the fovea did not interfere with repair of macular hole or recovery of visual acuity.
