Two Brazilian males developed psychogenic visual disturbance following corneal foreign body. The first case had corrected visual acuity of 0.04 right and 1.0 left. We diagnosed his right eye as amblyopia secondary to hyperopia. He visited us again for corneal foreign body in his left eye. His left visual acuity decreased to 0.08 after removal of foreign body. Mental stress in his working place appeared to have induced psychogenic visual disturbance. His visual acuity improved to 1.0 following improved labor relations 6 months later. The second case presented with corneal foreign body in his right eye. His visual acuity was 0.9 right and 1.0 left one month later. Another 2 months later, the visual acuity decreased to 0.2 right and 0.15 left. Tunnel visual field was present. We diagnosed him with psychogenic visual disturbance due to problems in his working place and conflict with his Japanese wife. His visual acuity improved to 1.0 in either eye after his problems were solved. Poor linguistic ability seemed to be the underlying cause of visual problems in both cases.
