  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The possibility of formation of conditioned reflex of leucocytosis caused by mixed antityphoid-antipara-typhoid vaccine injection was studied on ten psychotic patients (7 of scizophrenic, 1 feebleminded, 1 general paretic and 1 manic-depressive patients).

As the method of conditioning, 0.5cc of 1000-fold mixed antityphoid-antiparatyphoid vaccine was injected imto the cubital vein of the same side once a day under a constant condition during a series of ex-perment. After every 3 times reinforcements, 0.5cc of the physiological saline solution was injected under the same condition in place of the mixed antityphoid-antiparatyphoid vaccine, and was examined whether the conditioned reflectorlc leucocytosis was formed or not.

As the result, the conditioned reflectoric leucocyt-osis was formed after 3 or 12 reinforcements in 4 cases (3 cases yf schizoprenia and 1 case of general paresis), while the formation of the conditioned reflex was hardly observed in other cases.

From the facts above mentioned, it is concluded that the increase of leucocytes in blood caused by mixed antityphoid-antiparatyphoid vaccine injection is considered to be controlled cortically.
