  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

In order to find quantitatively the individuality (or individual difference) of the most popular neu-roleptics, chlorpromazine, this test was composed.

Chlorpromazine 0. 5 mg/kg was injected intrave-nously to 38 cases of scizophrenic patients, then EEG and various autonomic function were inves-tigated every two minutes for half hour.

In the series of our test α waves in EEG and constriction of pupilles responded most sensitively to CP. and these both kept high correlation.

Among our cases it is found that they made cleary two groups, one was named CP. sensitive group and the other was not sensive, dull group, and they were evidently charactrized as follows. :

Sensitive group : Percent of decrease of a waves< 40% and myosis rate <40%

Dull group : Percent of decrease of a waves> 40% and myosis rate> 40%

These percent of decrease of a waves and myosis rate were made by comparison with the changes after injection of CP. and before.
