定位的扁桃核手術stereotaxic amygdalotomyについては,これまですでに数篇の論文において,かなり詳細に述べてきているので,今回はむしろ,その後の症例の経験と,いくつかの問題点について述べることにする6)。
As previously reported, the stereotaxic neurosur-gical invasion on the amygdaloid nucleus unilaterally or bilaterally, has proved quite effective for the behavior disorders due to organic etiology in children or in epileptics.
Detailed technical devices in stereotaxic neurosur-gery, such as recordings of the localized activity from the nucleus, of the evoked discharges for olfactory stimulation and also of the injury discharges, was described and the effects are summarized as, the pro-cedure usually produces marked calming or taming effects on the violent, uncontrollable and destructive behavior and the patients become more obedient, educationable, able to concentrate and adaptable for their environment.
Mortality is none in ninety cases and the side effects such as memory disturbances or Kluever-Bucy syndrome are not experienced, except one case, which showed such symptoms only transiently.
