  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The first case of pallidotomy for Raynaud's disease by one of the authors, H.N. was carried out on May 1960 and its ten-years postoperative follow-up study was reported 1972 (Confin. Neurologica, 34: 152-155). As the usual observation during the course of stereotaxic pallidotomy for parkinsonism and other extrapyramidal disorders, the peripheral blood flow measured by photoelectric plethysmography is markedly increased on the contralateral fingers and toes within seconds after producing lesions in the internal segment of the pallidum.
