  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Cyst of Cavum septi pellucide was disco-vered in three patients, 36 year-old, 14 year-old male, and 6 year-old female.

In the first patient, who have suffered from weakness of sight of both eyes about two years duration. The cyst communicated to ventricular system was revealed by pneumo-ventriculography.

The second patient was admitted to our hosp-ital with the complaint of disturbance of gait. Spastic paresis was observed in his both legs. In this case, the cyst was revealed by pneu-moventriculography while in the spinal cord mvelography suspected the existence of ad-hesive arachinitis.

The third patient have suffered from typi-cal hydrocephalus and complained of repeated attack of headache, vomiting and instability of gait since one year ago. In this case, en-largement of Cavum septi pellucidi and par-tial defect of septum pellucidum were sug-gested by iodine-oil ventriculography, and were proved by craniotomy.

In my opinion, it emphasized that more attention should be paid to this disease, be-cause it is thought as more comon cause of various neurological disorders, in spite of report of this desease is rare in Japan.
