  • Look Inside

It is well known that the children are sub-ject to convulsions more often than the adul-ts, particularly in their febrile state, and the children with febrile convulsions tend to have epileptic seizures in their latter life. The physiological relations between the febrile state and the convulsions, however, has not been clarified yet.

In 25 curarized adult cats and in 12 curari-zed kittens or immature cats, the auther investigated the effects of the increased bo-dy temperature produced by the intravenous injection of T. T. G or applying the hot water bag to the abdomen on the electrical activi-ties of the brain, the electrical arousal reac-tion, the spontaneous seizure discharges, and the localized seizure discharges induced by local electrical stimulation in the neo-, paleo-and archicortex.
