  • Look Inside

The administrations of Fluphenazine 1.5—4.5mg daily for 20-53 days to 25 schizophre-nics were effective in 4 cases, slightly effe-ctive in 5 cases, effective only during trea-tment in 9 cases and not effective in 7 cases. The characteristic actions of Fluphenazine were the early development of its favorableeffects and activation of will and rapport.

Side effects such as parkinsonism, drowsi-ness, irritation, anxiety, insomnia, annui, exanthema and eye spasm were found in 8 out of 25 cases, while each of them was so slight that the treatment could be continued. The combination with Promethazine 75mg was effective to the parkinsonism and cuta-neous eruption.

The electroencephalogram and Minor Tre-mor of 7 schizophrenics were examined be-fore, during and after the Fluphenazine therapy. Frequency analyses of EEG and MT revealed that a close correlation between them was observed in the energy percent of each frequency bands.
