脳底動脈血栓症と思われる1剖検例

A CASE OF BASILAR ARTERY THROMBOSIS A CLINICAL AND PATHOLOGIC STUDY

緒言

　脳底動脈閉塞症は欧米に於てはそれ程稀な疾患ではない。1868年，Hayem^1）が，脳底動脈閉塞症の4剖検例を報告してから，現在に至る迄比較的多くの症例が報告されており，特にKubic及びAdams^2）（1946）は18例の剖検例を臨床病理学的に検討し，又Siekert^3）等（1955）は23例の剖検例の臨床症状をまとめている。

　しかるに我が国に於ては，脳底動脈閉塞症の報告例は殆んど見られず，1959年，里谷^4）の脳底動脈不全症の臨床報告と，1960年安芸^5）の脳底動脈閉塞症の1剖検報告があるのみである。

A 70-year-old man went suddenly into coma and died 12 hours after the onset of illness. The chief clinical manifestations were fre-quent vomiting, cyanosis, hyperthermia, hy-pertranspiration and tetraplegia. The clinical diagnosis of intracerebral hemorrhage with secondary intraventricular hemorrhage was made. At autopsy thrombosis of basilar art-ery was revealed, but no gross evidence of softening or hemorrhage in the brain was found. Histologically, ischemic change is re-vealed in some part of left thalamus and nuclei pontis.

Clinicopathologic specialty of this case died shortly after the onset of illness and rare incidence of basilar thrombosis in Japan were discussed.
