  • Look Inside

We reported a case with the successive disturbances of the chronic bromvalerilurea. The male patient, aged 32, had taken increa-singly bromvalerilurea for about 3 years and 4 months (at first 0.5 gr. and adding gra-dually until it amounted to 5 gr. per day) and after the fever of unknown cause, at last he showed some special neurological symp-toms.

Comparing with the another cases repor-ted in Japan, we have studied symptomatolo-gically our case.

The conclusions are as follows: 1) When one takes bromvalerilurea frequ- ently and for a long time, there is no doubt that the successive neurological sy- mptoms may appear to the chronic into xication.

2) These complex symptoms are consisted in both pyramidal and cerebellar distur- bances. And the main symptoms are the disturbance of gait and dysarthria. But in sensibilities no disorder appears.

3) Onset of these successive symptoms is relatively gradual, but by the precipita- ting factors such as fever, the course may be promoted.

4) While by the treatment the disturban- ce of gait can be remidied fairly, but the dysarthria can hardly be improved.
