慢性マンガン中毒症の1例

　まえがき

　重金属の中毒症のうち，鉛や水銀によるものは比較的多くみられるが，慢性マンガン中毒症は稀な疾患とされている。

　本疾患は，1837年Couperによつて最初に報告されたが，本邦に於ては三浦^1），佐藤^2），越智^3），鎌田^4），常告^5），西野^6），芦沢^7），大江^8），北岡^9），稲田^{10）11）12）}，石倉^13），林^14），斉藤^15），川村^30），太田^13）等による報告がみられる。

Okamoto and Abe report a case of maga-nese toxicosis. The patient a man, aged 44, complained of severe back pain, paralysis of both upper and lower extremeties, vertigo and tremor. Disturbances were met with in ambulation and speech:inability to progress backward or sidewise:discloration of gingival mucons membrane to a considerable degree and chronic inflammatory signs were mani-fested in the larynx. No change was noted in the hearing tests but downward vertical ny-stagmus was recognized:such a nystagmus showed an increase in its excursions by tur-ning test and a prolongation by caloric test: no difference was noted in the reaction of the left and right eye.
