We examine whether ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels on coronary vascurature and the car-diac sympathetic nerve system modulate coronary vas-cular resistance and the overflow of neurotransmitters at rest and during adrenergic stimuli in a vagotomized condition. Under β-receptor blockade, the KATP, chan-nel blocker, glibenclamide, increased coronary vascular resistance at rest, and enhanced the increase in coro-nary vascular resistance induced by ventrolateral car-diac nerve stimulation (2 to 20 Hz).
