  • Look Inside

A 53-year-old male was admitted to our hospital because of cough, subfever and dyspnea on exertion. Physical examination on admission revealed neck vein distention and tachycardia. Chest roentgenogram showed cardiomegaly, left pleural thickening but no remarkable pulmonary infiltration. Echocardiography showed massive pericardial effusion, ST-T change was shown on ECG. Mediastinal lymphadenopathy and thickened pericardium was found on thoracic CT. This suggested pericarditis due to infection or malignant disease. PPD test was positive.
