  • Look Inside

The purpose of this investigation is to analyse the branching pattern of pulmonary artery.

The isolated right lower lobes of six mongrel dogs were prepared for the perfusion-fixation with 1.2% glutalaldehyde solution. Perfusing pressures of pulmonary artery and vein, and airway were controlled during fixation. After fixation, the resin was injected from the side of artery. When polimelization of resin was finished, the lung was placed in 20N. N2OH solution to remove the tissue. Under the stereomicroscope, the diameter of parent branch, large daughter branch and small daughter branch and the length of branches of the cast were measured.
