  • Look Inside

The effects of oral isosorbide dinitrate (ISD) therapy were studied in patients with refractory congestive heart failure, who were divided into 3 groups. Group A was 5 patients of congestive cardiomyopathy. Group B was 5 patients of aortic and mitral regurgitation. Group C was 7 patients of aortic and mitral stenosis.

Oral ISD therapy significantly decreased mean pulmonary artery pressure and pulmonary diastolic pressure and mildly mean arterial blood pressure. These effects were not significantly different between three groups.
