1) The fractional analysis of the CO2 tensions of the expired air and of the arterial blood was performed on 84 cases with chronic pulmonary emphysema.
2) The arterial CO2 tensions in those referring cases were ranged between 34.Omm Hg and 74.OmmHg. Abnormally elevated CO2 tensions in the arterial blood were revealed in 72 cases among those emphysematous patients.
3) Any significant difference of every fractional expired air and of arterial blood was observed.
