　The involvement of intrapulmonary dis—tribution of inspired gas in chronic pulmonary　emphysema has been reported by many　investigators^{2）3）4）7）8）9）10）}．　Fowler, Fowler　et al．^9），　Bates et al．^2），　Blairand Hickam^3）11）　have investigated the impaired gas distribu—tion to analyze the so-called　"clearance　curve，"　which was obtained through the　continuous gas analysis of expired gas．　The　impairment of intrapulmonary distribution　of inspired gas in chronic pulmonary em—physema is reported here with special　reference to the gas distribution curve．
