Specific morphological changes are noted in gastric tumor tissue after eradication therapy for Helicobacter pylori. After eradication therapy, some gastric tumors became flat and obscure, and histologically, the surface of the gastric tumor tissue is covered by epithelium with low-grade atypia as well as non-neoplastic epithelium. The origin of these histological changes remains unclear; however, eradication therapy may cause tumor tissue to differentiate into epithelium with low-grade atypia and non-neoplastic epithelium that retains non-neoplastic characteristics.
