  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

In this article, definition of advanced cancer was discussed. Changes concerned with the prognosis was then studied. At the third place, factors concerned with prognosis were mentioned.

These factors were analized from two aspects.

One was from tumor side. These were as follows, 1. palpable tumor or not, 2. size of tumor, 3. macroscopical type of tumor, 4. histological findings of operated specimen, 5. metastasis, 6. infiltration to serous membran.

The other factor from host side. These were as follows, 1. clinical symptoms, 2. factors concerned with the hostresistance to cancer, 3. factors concerned with therapeutics.

Considering these conditions, cancers which belonged to Stage Ⅰ or Stgae Ⅱ (So n,+So n+) and were operated radically, showed best prognosis.

Cancers which are restricted type tumor macroscopically and belong to middle grade or less CAT, SAT and INF have good prognosis.

Cancers which have no invation to lymph vessels and blood vessels, strong stromal response and sinus histiocytosis show also good prognosis. If the strong stromal response is seen around cancer, this means good prognosis even the cancer has lymph node metastasis and high grade SAT and INF. Conditions which determines the good prognosis of advanced cancer were analized from the clinical and pathological view point.
