The patient, a 48-year-old woman, came to the Tokyo Metropolitan Cancer Detection Center with a complaint of epigastric pain which had begun eight months previously. Blood count, blood chemistry and urinalysis were within normal limits. Close scrutiny of the x-rays and endoscopic findings, however, disclosed evidences of early carcinoma of the stomach, i.e., Type Ⅱc+Ⅲ.
As demonstrated in the above figures, there are six signs which are characteristic of Type Ⅱc+Ⅲ:
