A 52 year-old woman visited Niigata University Hospital in 1981 for detailed examination of gastric abnormality which had been suspected of malignancy by mass survey.
X-ray examination of the stomach was done on November 30, 1981 and endoscopy (GTF B 100) on December 2, 1981. Both examinations revealed a shallow irregular depression with several nodules and the converging folds at the anterior wall of the gastric angle. The diagnosis of Ⅱc type early cancer associated with healed ulcer was made. Biopsy taken from the lesion showed signet-ring cell carcinoma (Group Ⅴ).
