1）ヘルペスウイルス感染症

Herpesvirus Infection

要旨　消化管のヘルペスウイルス感染症は，まれな疾患であって，食道を除いては，胃，十二指腸，大腸のヘルペス感染症の報告はかなり少ない．当院でも，食道のヘルペス感染症が最近25年間で，数例経験されているのみである．ヘルペス食道炎，食道潰瘍は，癌の末期などの免疫不全状態や，後天性免疫不全症候群（acquired immunodeficiency syndrome; AIDS）などのimmunocompromised hostにみられる日和見感染症であることがほとんどであるが，免疫不全状態のない，immunocompetent hostの報告もある．

　Infection of the gastrointestinal tract by the herpes virus is rare. Apart from instances of esophageal infection, there are very few cases of infection in the stomach, the duodenum or the colon. At our hospital, we have only seen a few cases of esophageal herpes infection in the last twenty five years.

　Herpes esophagitis and herpes ulcers are found in patients with terminal cancer and among the opportunistic infections of AIDS patients, who are referred to as immunocompromised hosts. On rare occasions, these conditions can be found in immunocompetent host.
