Abstract Background:Ocular toxoplasmosis(OT) is a recurrent chorioretinitis caused by Toxoplasma gondii. Repeated relapses may lead to progressive visual impairment. Currently, there is no established treatment for the prevention of relapse, and the development of effective therapeutic strategies remains a clinical challenge.

Case Report:A man in his seventies with a history of OT presented with recurrent intraocular inflammation. Treatment with acetylspiramycin failed to achieve adequate control of inflammation and did not prevent the enlargement of a satellite lesion. However, after switching to erythromycin(EM) for the treatment of diffuse panbronchiolitis, intraocular inflammation was successfully controlled, satellite lesion enlargement halted, and no recurrence was observed for more than 10 months.

Conclusion:EM may be a potential therapeutic option for preventing OT recurrence.
