　超高齢社会を迎えたわが国において，急増する加齢性難聴への対応は重要な課題となっている．特に，認知症との関連が大きいと注目を集めている．補聴器の装用を進めることはコミュニケーション活動を活発にする．その結果，認知機能が改善し，地域で自立した生活が可能となることが期待される．今回，言語聴覚士を取り巻く聴覚障害領域の現状，特に高齢難聴者に関する協会の活動について報告した．

　Coping with the rapidly increasing occurrence of age-related hearing loss has become an important issue in Japan, which has entered a super-aged society. Age-related hearing loss, particularly linked to dementia, is drawing attention. Hearing aids can help older people with hearing loss to be more active communicators. As a result, their cognitive function can be expected to improve, thus allowing them to live independently in the community. In this research, the author reports on the current situation of the hearing disorders, particularly age-related hearing loss, surrounding speech-language-hearing therapists.
