　本研究の目的はSafety ＆ First Aid Checkを用いた応急処置教育プログラムが，1歳6カ月児の保護者において教育的効果を有するかどうかを評価することである。このプログラムは，“Safety ＆ First Aid Check”の記入と応急処置のパンフレットから構成されている。Safety ＆ First Aid Checkは安全のための生活環境のチェックと応急処置の備えのチェックから成り立っている。我々は動機づけ効果を期待してこれを作成した。

　この研究は1999年に行なった。調査対象は1歳6カ月児の保護者170名である。そのうち93名は実験群（プログラムを試行），77名はコントロール群（パンフレットの配布のみ）とした。調査法は選択式質問紙法でプログラム試行の前と2か月後に実施した。この質問紙は応急処置行動，事故，応急処置の備え，パンフレットの印象の質問からなる。　その結果，事故発生率は，実験群に有意に減少した事故が多く，対照群は有意な差が認められた事故はなかった。応急処置実施率は，実験群は有意な変化は認められなかったが，対照群は減少傾向であった。よって，本プログラムは幼児の保護者において教育効果を有することが明らかになった。

　The aim of this study was to evaluate whether first aid education program which combined with “Safety & First Aid Check” had any educational effect on parents of children. This program consists of sheets of questions “Safety & First Aid Check” and first aid booklet. “Safety & First Aid Check” is composed of living environment for safety check and preparation of first aid check. We made out it for motivation.

　This study was conducted in 1999. The sample site was 170 parents whose child was 18 months of age. 170 parents were divided into two groups of experimental group (take the program, n=93) and control group (only first aid booklet distribution, n=77). Self-administered multiple choice questionnaires were used at pre-test (before the program), a post-test (2 months after the program). This questionnaires consists of accidents, first aid behavior, preparation of first aid, and impression of first aid booklet.

　As the result, there were many accident that decrease in the accidental rate of experimental group between pretest and post-test was significant. But there were not accident that decrease in the control group between pre-test and post-test is significant. The difference between pre-test and post-test was not significant in rate of performance of first aid on experimental group. But control group tend to decrease. Therefore, it became apparent that this program have educational effect on parents of children.
