　ポストゲノム時代と称される現在では，遺伝情報を医療に活用することが期待されている．患者個人の遺伝的特徴を診断する検査であるファーマコゲノミクス検査(PGx検査)は，個々の患者に最適な治療薬，用法・用量の選択を可能にする．遺伝的特徴の人種差を考慮すると，日本人を対象とした日本人のためのPGx検査の開発と臨床研究，さらに臨床応用が求められている．本邦におけるPGx検査の現状を欧米と対比させて紹介し，今後の課題について考察する．

Following the completion of Human Genome Project in 2003, genomic data are expected to be exploited in medicine.　Pharmacogenomic tests analyze the genetic makeup of the individual patients and make it possible to choose drugs and dosage appropriate for individual patients.　Since the genetic characteristics differ among the ethnic groups, PGx tests are required to develop for each ethnic group.　In contrast to USA and Europe, quite few PGx tests are clinically exploited for the personalized medicine in Japan.
